Mishawaka: Tasting Room Manager

Job Title: Tasting Room Manager
Job Type: Full Time (salary)

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to maximize the performance and efficiency of the tasting room through oversight of day-to-day operations and management of part time staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set and analyze operating goals and objectives for tasting room

  • Ensure cleanliness, appearance, and organization of the tasting room

  • Oversee creation of weekly shift schedule for part time employees

  • Maintain consistent staff performance levels and standards

  • Coordinate new product releases in the tasting room

  • Provide leadership and training of tasting room staff according to company rules and regulations

  • Assist Retail Operations Manager in keeping the tasting room up to code with health inspector, safety regulations, and ATC requirements

  • Assist Retail Operations Manager in implementing improvements to brewery operations and procedures within the tasting room

  • Properly manage inventory levels and communicate needs to appropriate departments

  • Arrange brewery tours and oversee brewery tour program

  • Establish and monitor overall retail standards and performance, including inventory pars and sales figures

  • Ensure proper cash handling and verify daily safe balance on Fridays and Saturdays

  • Arrange for maintenance and service of equipment within tasting room

  • Maintain employee manual as it applies to part time retail staff

  • Execute on-site events held in the tasting room

  • Assist in the interviewing and hiring of part time tasting room staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills

  • Strong leadership, management, and problem resolution skills

  • Proficient computer and POS knowledge

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point software programs

  • Proficient in using Google Docs, and maintaining an online spreadsheet

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills

  • Valid liquor license

  • Valid forklift certification

Education/Training/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Management experience
Knowledge of craft beer industry

Reporting:

The Tasting Room Manager reports directly to the Retail Operations Manager and Executive Vice President of Brewery Operations. The Tasting Room Manager also works with the Tasting Room Supervisors, as well as the Event Coordinator and Merchandise Manager for other tasting room and retail needs.
