I am former Army Infantry Sergeant Rob Malad, and current Sun King employee. My former unit, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, is currently on a nine month tour in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. It has been a long and difficult deployment, and the life of a dear Brother was taken December 10th, 2012.
Staff Sergeant Wesley Williams, of New Carlisle, OH, was one of the finest leaders of men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and an even better human being. He is survived by his wife, Krista, and their now 20 month old daughter, Faith. Krista is also currently pregnant with a second daughter, due July 21st.
Because of my dedication to my unit and my loyalty to my Brother, I am heading a collection of donations for the arrival of their second daughter. Accepted donations any, and all baby materials (non-parshable), to include, but not limited to: diapers, baby wipes, baby powder, gift cards (Walmart, Baby’s R Us, etc.), as well as cash donations. The cash donations will go directly to the Wesley Williams Scholarship Fund for the Junior ROTC Program in New Carlisle, OH. All donations will be collected at Sun King, Thursday, May 23 – Saturday, May 25.
A small gesture of compassion and kindness can go a long way, and together we can help ease the suffering of a family who lost their hero too soon.
Collection jars will be placed in the Tasting Room at Sun King Brewery and a donation box for baby items will be placed in the Front Office. Please stop by during open business hours, Thursday, May 23rd (10am-7pm), Friday, May 24th (10am-7pm), and Saturday, May 25th (1pm-5pm).
