Wee Mac is a Scottish style Brown Ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that has a nice hazelnut character with rich toffee undertones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Saison de Taffy is a Belgian Farmhouse Ale, often referred to as a Saison (say-zahn). This style of beer is traditionally produced by farmers with an array of crops from harvest.

Saison de Taffy is a mixture of barley, wheat and oats, that give the beer a rich malt character. There is a rich apricot flavor from the yeast and a portion of the mash was soured in order to accentuate the tartness that the yeast strain imparts.

Saison de Taffy is unlike anything you’ve had before and is a must try for anyone who loves wheat beers!

Sunlight Cream Ale is our most approachable beer and is a great introduction to the world of Craft Beer. Cream ale is one of the earliest styles of American beer, but was virtually wiped out by American lager brewers.

Our Cream Ale is an all malt beer. Only the finest quality barley, wheat and oats are used to give this beer it’s smooth malt profile which is delicately balanced with American hops and a cool fermentation to give this beer a crisp, clean finish.

The Bitter Druid ESB is a new twist on an old favorite. Our Americanized ESB blends American 2-row pale malt with choice British specialty malts to create a rich malt start that is followed by a crisp, American hop finish. This beer is a wonderful gateway to the world of hops due to it’s delicate balance and rich array of flavors.

Sun King Oktoberfest is a traditional German lager that is incredibly smooth and drinkable.

Crafted with choice German Malts to give a rich, clean malty start accented by a slightly spicy noble hop character and a crisp finish.

First Waltz is the first of Sun King’s Specialty Beer Offerings. Both of Dave & Clay’s final beers at their last brewery were Imperial IPAs. Clay’s was a beer called Mohawk Red (in honor of once being reprimanded and told that a mohawk and shorts were not professional attire... WTF?) and Dave’s was called The Last Dance (in recognition of the end of his nearly 8 years at a busy downtown brewpub)

First Waltz is a West Coast Style IPA that was brewed with flaked rye to accentuate the spicy, citrus hop flavor of the Nuggets and Cascades used in it’s creation. The malt is more or less a conduit for the hops and this beer is double dry-hopped, both in the fermenter and again as it was kegged, giving it the freshest hop aroma possible.

Home Grown Harvest Ale is a smooth amber ale that was brewed with a variety of grains; including barley, wheat, oats and rye in order to create a rich malt profile. The beer was hopped with locally grown hops from kay at basic roots community foods and then dry

hopped as it was kegged for the freshest hop aroma.

El Gallo Negro is our Black I.P.A. El Gallo (pronounced guy-0) is a big, rich, roasty, creamy, hoppy delicious beer. It has the body of a porter, with the roasty character of a stout and the hop punch of an I.P.A.

Crab Apple Wit is an unfiltered Belgian wheat beer. It was brewed with locally produced Crab Apple Juice from Fruit Loop Acres in Indianapolis. The juice imparts a tart

quality that blends beautifully with the rich fruity aromas. Our unique Belgian yeast imparts a fruit cocktail of flavor which gives way to a crisp, tart finish.

Rathskeller Amber is a smooth, malty American Amber Ale. It has a rich caramel malt character that is balanced by German Noble Hops. It is brewed exclusively for the Rathskeller Restaurant, which is Indianapolis’ premier German Restaurant and Beer Hall.

Red Rye IPA

Poff the Magic Dragon is a collaboration between Dave, Clay and Mark Poffenberger, Sun King’s only full time employee, and the person the beer was named after.

Poff is a Red Rye I.P.A.  which means that it was brewed with a heavy amount of flaked rye. Rye adds a spicy kick to the malt flavor  which

plays into the heavy use of American Citrus Hops that give the beer its delicious hop punch.
